How to write an essay about what motivated your career choice

You have chosen a career. You have been asked to write why you chose it. Where do you start? This can be a fun assignment, since it is an opportunity for you to reflect and look forward. Choosing a career means giving you a direction and a way to set specific goals. Similarly, it can give you a test structure.

Think again about the first time you considered your chosen career or when you first enjoyed an activity related to it. Think about how it made you feel, why you changed your mind or how it showed you a new way of thinking about your future. Think about your skills and affinities, and how they fit with what is necessary for your career. I experienced some confusion in the past and in the end I was aware of how an essay for me should be made. The following are the key points I got from "my journey" to create an essay that can reflect the things that motivate me to choose my career.

Create a profile for your essay

Use the brainstorming trick to build a narrative of your decision-making process. Discuss your first years of life, the topics or activities that you enjoyed, and the problems you faced. Discuss also your strengths and how you feel you fit for this race. Include how you plan to adjust to the career for the rest of your life, including family, marriage, location and lifestyle, and how to prioritize your career among these other factors.

Choose your role models

Consider your role models and anyone who has influenced you, whether you were in favor or against your eventual decision. If you were influenced or your mentor was someone with the same career, consider your similarities and differences, and how that affected your decision. Talk about anyone you tried to emulate or anyone who motivated you, including parents, teachers, employees and friends.

Write clearly and with simplicity

Do not try to decorate or worry about sounding interesting. Your story is unique but you need to keep a conversational tone. Do not be ashamed of the negative points and you need to understand that it is better to give yourself an opportunity to write an honest overview of your career plan than to try to sweeten aspects of it so that another benefits.

Hopefully my experience can be useful to you. Good luck and keep writing!
